Another Dance Fad

Everyone’s heard of the Charleston. It was the most popular of the novelty dances in the Roaring Twenties. Its debut was supposedly in 1923 at a show called Runnin’ Wild at the African American.

What about the other novelty dances that were just as much a part of the dance craze of the Twenties? I’m talking about the Turkey Trot, the Black Bottom, the Lindy Hop, and the Shimmy. The Bump, the Fishtail, the Messaround. I’ll get to those in the coming weeks.
